Hi all,
This turned up as a result of my automatic search on the name CAT*LEY.
Hope it helps someone.

Hi Robin
An email directly to you this morning bounced so you didn't get my
enquiry to contact me at my work place with specifics. Your email to say
that you had accepted another offer didn't get to me until this evening.
So regardless here is some information for you.
While the military file for Albert Charles Martin holds the standard NOK
details of mother, then updated to wife, and a few lines on his military
career from 26/4/17 and demob 18/11/1918, in fact he never left New
Zealand as he appealed his service and was summonsed. I have made pencil
notes of all key information and do not think a purchased copy will give
you much more.
The File "BOX" on George Hooper is a treasure trove for you. It is rare
to do a lookup and find a huge box which on opening is largely empty but
for a tight wad of about 20-30 court papers neatly folded and tied with
lawyers tape. It refers to the Estate of George HOOPER, Brewer of Nelson
and the top paper was dated 19 June 1888. I had only the time to look at
the first few and noted just the names in the first affidavit James
Thomas Catley, Oswald Curtis, Arthur Aston Scaife. If you already have
an abundance of information on this gentleman then perhaps it will/won't
be of interest to you.
Claire

I have three queries regarding information held by the above.
1. Albert Charles MARTIN Archives ref: AABK 18805 W5544/119 Record
#0078307 Wellington
2.George HOOPER Archives ref: AAOO 17070 W5410/12 P478 Wellington
3. Albert Charles MARTIN Archives BBAE1570 Box 1709 P1157/1963 Auckland
These 3 items have been quoted to cost $NZ75 plus photocopying etc.
Unfortunately on a pension this is out of my financial range.
Does anyone have suggestions for a cheaper method to acquire these. The
two MARTIN archives would be more important to me than the HOOPER
information (of which I have an abundance)
Regards
Robin in West Oz
