Hello John,
Yes I saw on the TV news concerning the terrible floods in Switzerland,
meanwhile Portugal was suffering drought conditions and forest fires.
All of us who see the International news and are thus presumably aware of
the British Governments stance regarding asylum seekers must make their own
guesses as to that which you allude to. There are two double t Catleys
that I know of on THE LIST but neither reside in the UK (Brazil and
Australia) and as it happens both belong to my Tree. No doubt they will
"pick up" on your email and respond if they think they can be of any
assistance. There may well be others but none have telegraphed their
occupation that I know of.
Thanks for your input re mineral water bottles and reminding me of the
Sheffield Mineral Water Company connection which I had forgotten about.
Other listers will not have gathered your comments re the reference to "son
Edward" and Julian :- John is making the point here that his son is being
asked more and more frequently if there is any connection between him and
Julian. Julian is my son. Both Edward and Julian are in local education
teaching at higher level in different Towns in this County of Shropshire.
Kay Heath has indicated her intention of coming up from Aussie next spring
to do some more UK Archive research and would like to meet up with John and
self once more as we did last year (photos posted as "The Shrewsbury Three")
and John's comment is warming to my thought that maybe it would be nice to
see if some representatives of some other Catley trees would care to join
us?
I do not think that ever before have three Cat(t)leys, all from seperate
Trees arranged to meet. Next time we would like to widen the gathering
Any other Listers care to join us?
Speak later John when feet back on terra firma.
Regards as always
Tim

Hi Tim,
Sorry for being so quiet of late but have been on holiday to 'sunny
Switzerland' I really should have taken Scuba diving equipment with me. But
flooded Switzerland is better than sunny Birmingham.
I have yet to check all my emails; DNA etc. so please be patient.
I m also involved in a very nasty encounter with the British Authorities.
I am
literally trying to save someone's life whom the government are
determined to kill. I can assure you that this is fact and I will give you
details when I see you. (ARE THERE ANY CATLEY SOLICITORS OR BARRISTERS ON
THE
LIST? IF SO - HELP!)
The number of people asking son Edward if he knows Julian is increasing
month on
month. One disadvantage of the name? I don't think so.
Bottles:
I have now obtained three amber glass bottles, two small and one large. My
two sons
have demanded one each and I have kept the third. I did see one on
ebay, and I passed the info on to Kay.
I have also obtained a clear glass bottle of the Sheffield Mineral Water
Company,
with the crest and name of Catley Abbey.
Obviously if I see any more I will notify the list.
As you know I have the Catley Abbey ash tray, passed down to me by a now
long dead
aunt, but I have never seen another anywhere.
Its great that Kay is coming over again, I am looking forward to it. Your
idea of
getting more Catleys together is very welcome.
As soon as I get my feet back on the ground I will get in touch
John
