Subject: Re: [WAR] Surname interest: CADBY
My thanks to all who replied to my posting. I did try to thank everyone
individually, but some were returned as 'undeliverable'
So, please accept my thanks now for your help, your efforts are very much
appreciated.
Following is a reply to one of those emails:
<<I seem to be unable to find the registration (so i can order the
certificate) of a Charles CADBY. Family information says he was born 15 Sep
1862, but I am not sure where?
his parents were supposedly Thomas CADBY b 29 May 1820. (Again I have no
idea where?) and Caroline DAVIES b 1822 (no idea where?)
Thomas and Carooline married in Kingswinford, Stourbridge 26 Dec 1840.
Except that the certificate has Thomas's surname as 'CATLEY'. The signature
is definitely CADBY though.
Thomas died 22 Jan 1875 Aston WAR. Caroline was buried 2 Dec 1908 All
Saints Birmingham.
I know that various members of this family emigrated to Australia at various
times. I am wondering if maybe Charles was born abroad?
Anyway, many thanks for your offer of help. It is very much appreciated!
Best wishes,
Sally >>
