Hi Tim,
In answer to your question yes it is the same person. He went to work in the
mines, in 1910 he was still in the mines. Then at some point before 1922 he
became a Tailor Master. What I dont get is his wife Mary Jane was pregnant,
she gave birth March Q 1922 and by the time she was buried 26/5/1922 she was
a widow. Unless I get the birth cert for the child I have no date of birth.
She must of had to come from Wales to Kent to see the registrar to change
the death cert possibly whilst pregnant. Sydney the eldest son would have
been 16/17 years so he would have had to look after the younger 4 children.
I will keep you posted on events.
Liz

Hello Liz.
Is this Ernest the one listed as marrying a Williams in Merther Tydfil in
the 3rd quarter of 1902?
If so, then presume she was Mary Jane Williams?
Do keep us posted re your progress, most interesting indeed.

So
I took the plunge and ordered the cert. How very interesting it is
to.

Occupation Labourer living at 7 H? Street Dover. The death was registered
in
Bridge. Bridge is some distant from Chatham which I find strange. It
also
has a note written on the side stating In No. 448 Col's before Thomas
Thomas
read Ernest Catley likewise and in col. 4 58 years read 43 years
Corrected
on the 14/3/1922 by me William H Wess Registrar on deduction of a
Statutory
Declaration made by Mary Jane Catley and SW Enoch Williams.

as that is where I live.
