Interesting to see how few Catleys there were (in total) in the 1841
census.
The dna test results on the website are just identified by a number,
but if you want to, you can add information to the website which
gives your number/precis of your family tree/how to get hold of you
..... but other than that, anyone who wanted to contact you could
always do so through the co-ordinator.

Subject: [CATLEY] DNA Results
HI Tim and All,
Just to update you. My dads test has been received at Familytreedna. It
will take 6 weeks to do the test on a 37 marker. Each person that does
the
test will be notified of the result. Once all tests are done it will be
easier to check the results.
Due to the privacy act etc. the results are only open to the participant
and
myself. However as we are all in this together the information will be
known
to the list. Unless somebody does not want to share their info which
defeats
the reasons for doing it in the first place.
I have done a bit of research on the name distribution, comparing census
results.
In 1841 the name Catley came out as follows
Essex 22
Cambridge 19
Herts 27
Lincoln 54
London 47
Somerset 51
Yorkshire 61
There where the odd few scattered elsewhere.
1851
Cambridge 21
Essex 22
Herts 56
Lancs 17
Lincoln 50
London 76
Somerset 66
Warwick 19
Yorkshire 86
Again a few where scattered elsewhere
1861
Cambridge 12
Essex 21
Herts 15
Lancs 22
Lincoln 83
London 91
Somerset 64
Yorkshire 37
1871
Cam 12
Essex 17
Herts 17
Lancs 28
Lincs 75
London 129
Som 35
Warwick 16
Yorkshire 32
1891
Essex34
Herts 61
Lancs 35
Lincs 34
London 146
Som 89
Yorks 105
Cattley
1841
Lancs 13
London 24
Yorkshire 68
1891
London 48
Sussex 12
Somerset 12
Wor 10
Yorkshire 69
There where a lot of counties that had no Catley's living in them. It
appears most are living in Yorkshire to start with and not Lincs. maybe we
should be looking at Yorkshire for a begining of the name and not Lincs.
Food for thought
Liz
