Hi Liz,
You seem to have latched on to the Garforth Catleys in that Benjamin b 1835
is one of 13 children b to James Catley who was b in Garforth 24/10/1794.
This James seems to have married twice:
1) to Eleanor 2) Elizabeth ?Thomlinson.
James' father I believe was Thomas Catley b 4th/5/1769 who marriedAnn
Fletcher 22/4/1794 in Garforth.
Thomas' father was also a Thomas b 3/2/1733 who m Ann Crawford in Garforth
30/1/1764.
Thomas 1st was the son of Robert Catley b 1690 Garforth who married twice,
first to Mary Shillito who had 5 maybe 6 children by him and then later to
Ann Dib who also had 6 children. Thomas1 looks to be the first child of
Robert born from his 2nd marriage (to Ann).
All these were Garforth Catleys.
However Marges tree seems to stem from Bilton-in-Ainstey and there is no
connection that we found yet.
I had a go at resolving these two lines with partial success and then Kay H
stepped in to help as she was "doing Yorkshire Cat*leys" as well and managed
to extract much more info.
She is taking some "time out" from research/rootsweb at present but hopes to
be back up and running come February and nodoubt then she will be happy to
pool her research info with you Liz.
Just to update you re my DNA sample, it was posted back to familytreedna
20th January by special air mail which was g'teed to reach them in 48hrs so
they should have got it yesterday morning.
Regards Timcatt
