Thanks Dave,
For the reminder as to which tree Thomas belonged to.
That then would be William Catley of Kirton in Lindsey I presume.
I will see if the Easterwood contact can help re Edith's Birth Cert but as I indicated
in yesterdays e-mail, what he has sent me is her Marriage Cert.
There is something rather odd about all this because the M/C definitely shows her father
as Thomas Newmarsh Cattley yet the PRO lists Thomas Newmarsh Catley as b 1877 Scarborough
which as you say, makes him her brother!
Is it possible that the Thomas Catley b 1854 Scarborough ( the real father of Thomas2 and
Edith) was also a Newmarsh?
Just to complicate things further, I note in the PRO death lists for Catley that a Thomas
Newmarsh is recorded as died at Lincoln in 1891 aged 65 years making his birth year around
1826 ish.
Will send you (and John) the M/C for Edith tonight on cheaper rates (I'm not broadband
and it takes about 40 mins to transmit!!) and leave it to you to fathom!
Back soon Timcatt
