Hi Jann
In reference to your previous email referring to James of
Wiltshire did I not send you an email when I found more information pointing
me to Somerset (James of Chilcompton's father James of Welton).
This information I have added to Phil Clements's Coalfields Connection Tree
at the below address.
http://awt.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=pjc4ax&id=I08...
Phil Clements parish records showed me where I was going wrong, Robert
William's father James had two wives.
Also on this tree you will find some Brodribs, I have recently been in touch
with Greg Jones who has sent me a ged-com with a family tree of Australian
Brodribs, desended from William Adams Brodrib, a cousin of Ann Brodrib nee
Catley.
If you would be interested I could forward it to you?
Hope this helps and not confuses.
Bye for now
Dennis Catley

Subject: Re: [CATLEY] Sir Henry Irving connection to Bristol Catleys
Hi All,
The following may b e of interest.
Recently I have been given a copy of an 'In Memory of' post card and a
photo
which shows Sir Henry Irving (aka John Henry Brodribb).
Sir Henry Irving, actor in England, was said to be an Uncle to my Catley
ancestors who were born in Tasmania to William Aubrey Catley and wife
Susannah Miles.
Our records show that my GGG Grandfather Richard William Catley (B. 1800
Chilcompton, Somerset) married Ann Brodribb in 1827. Their son William
Aubrey was one of six children born in Bristol to Richard and Ann.
So the BRODRIBB connection seems feasible and logical but I am wondering
if
anyone else out there could shed some light on the BRODRIBB family and its
connection to the Catleys,
I would be most grateful for any help anyone could send our way,
(If anyone would like a copy of this card etc please contact me privately
so
I can send an attachment to you)
Kind regards,
Jann
