Liz you are a hero!
But then I know you just love a genealogical challenge and the
Herts/Cambs/Essex Cat*leys are proving to be just that, as expected.
The job is made harder by the fact that the geographical area in question
falls within the boundaries of the three Counties of Hertfordshire,
Cambridgeshire and Essex.
Whilst Liz has set the Eastern limit as the M11 motorway, I think it highly
possible that there will be genealogical links "off limits" ie with Saffron
Walden, Essex and Sawston, Cambridgeshire which are only a few miles further
East.
What could be of immense help long term, would be a copy of the work by
R.Bircham which goes under the title:-
"Sawston Surnames by Rev'd Canon Ronald Bircham"
Someone on the List must have a copy of this because most of you will
already have seen in Chris' Catley Database that some of the entries from
this work are already written up in it?
Regards
Tim

Hi All,
For those of you that don't know I have been looking at the
Anstey/Cambridge trees. To see if there are any links.
For those of you with access to a map of the area. I am looking at all the
villages between the A10 and M11 from the A120 northwards towards
Cambridge.
I note that Clavering is a stone throw from Meedsen and Anstey but it
is
in
Essex.
If anybody has any info on the families from this area can you please pass
my way, apart from the info Tim has sent me.
I will be taking a break and going back to India at the British Lib.
before
I go on my hols, so hope to meet up with Nigel again next week.
Cheers
Liz
