Hello Jann (and everybody)
Am I correct in thinking that the Willian Aubrey connection is with the
Somerset Norton Catley line?
If so then we have Glynis' brother Peter waiting for results here.
Glynis and Liz will know more about it and will probable respond/confirm or
otherwise.
I think that we have the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire areas covered OK now and
with Peter for the MSN clan, thats all looking good but what seems to be
"light" by way of dna against the known Cat*ley trees is London and the
South East.
We have Lynda for the Melbourne (Cambridgshire) Cat*leys, however there is
no representation for the very large Anstey (Hertfordshire) tree from
Barley/Barkway/Anstey and I dont think we have yet established a connection
between the Cambridge ones and the Herts ones, although logic says, as was
the case with the W.Yorks ones, that the proximity between the two suggests
that there should be a genetic link.
Alan in Vancouver has volunteered to provide a test for the "London
connection" but looking at the IGI for the capital city, there were many
Catleys recorded in the 1600's and ideally we could do with a wider dna base
here.

Subject: Re: [CATLEY] DNA Test
Hi everyone,
I'm a descendant of Tasmanian settler, William Aubrey Catley, via daughter
Clara Catley m. Joseph Sutton.
Is there a need to conduct a DNA test on our side of the Catley tree in
order to accurately connect us back to the main Catley branch in England?
I understand that it is the male line that is being tested and am
wondering
if any DNA tests from the William Aubrey Catley clan, or his
brother's
line
from New Zealand, have been done yet?
Thanks
Jann
