Everyone knows that Great Ormond Street in London is the most famous children's
hospital in the world, but did you also know that the admission records from 1852-1914 are
now available online? The database - Small and Special - is free to search and view the
results. Whilst you don't have to register, you'll be able to see more information
if you do. At a later date records for Cromwell House, the hospital's convalescent
home, will also be made available.
NZ Newspapers - Papers Past
Papers Past is a website operated by the National Library of New Zealand and
contains more than one million pages of digitised New Zealand newspapers and periodicals
covering the period 1840 to 1915.
All of the titles can be browsed either by date, region or title. Just under half of
the collection is fully searchable by text and these papers can be searched by entering
your criteria and then adding optional filters including title, date range and content
type.
