Hello All,
As you should already know, Liz C (and self tagging along in her wake!) is attempting the
monumental task of not only identifying ALL Cat*ley Trees but also researching each one in
depth where this has not already been done by others.
You will have noted from the recent correspondence that she is currently wrestling with
the Herts/Cambs/Essex bunch which is, as anticipated, proving a hard nut to crack, but
undaunted, she carries on and I think it only a matter of time before she has a
breakthrough (no not breakdown!)
One of my tasks is to "scout on ahead" and check out other possible future
research projects which is why from time to time I pop up on the List writing about
"Cat*ley pockets" such as mine of yesterday concerning Staffs Cat*leys.
I have another one for you all:-
Cat*leys in the North East of England.........
We already know about Cat*leys from two different Trees who have some roots in
Scarborough, N.R. of Yorkshire but what about Hartlepool, Co.Durham?
Charles Catley bapt 1759 Durham
Jane.E. Catley bapt 1861 Hartlepool
Mary Catley bapt 1866 Hartlepool
Bertha Catley bapt 1868 Hartlepool
Charles Catley bapt 1870 Hartlepool
Ann Catley bapt 1871 Hartlepool.
Nothing in Chris' Database suggests no researchers on the job here?
However, I have a gut feeling that this bunch may have something to do with the Longbottom
Catleys but not too sure on this.
Anybody got a lead on this trace?
