Hi David
Yes granddad was George William. I do not have my records in the office but he was born in
Scarborough (out of wedlock) to Richard also born Scarborough.
Richard was the second Richard born to the family, the first died in his first year. My gg
granddad used the dead brothers birth certificate to get married before he was 21. His
wife was the daughter of Abraham Clark who at that time was a high NCO in the garrison at
Scarborough Castle.
Yet another Richard (very confusing) was their father. He was born Kirmington and was
brother to your Thomas Newmarch
Regards
John

David, I arrived via the Bradford connection. Richard the confectioner is my Great
Grandfather. His son, George William ran away from home with Pat Collins fair and married
my grandmother in Brierley Hill. By the way, he married as Cattley - why, no one
knows.> > God bless> > John one T> > ------------------------------->
