Hello All,
A quick Google around re Catlow and a dip into the IGI's brings strong
returns that this is a regional (Lancastershire) name just as Dave
intimated.
There seem to be some Yorkshire connections, as well as a few Cheshire ones
but this seems quite logical given the geography association with
Lancashire.
Note: there are Cornish inclusions but the spelling is quite different,
starting with a "K" which supports the Morman 'Soundex' system of
recording
that both Dave and Erica allude to.
Best ......... Tim

Hi Dave and all,
Found this one interesting. It appears Ellen Catley/Catlow died giving
birth
to son Edmund. Question is, is she a Catley or Catlow. I've never
come
across that mix before.
