Idiot that I am, got the last names wrong in previous message!
It should have read:- "could there have been a Sophia Varley, sister to
Selena, born circa 1844?"
Sorry,
Tim

Hello Trevor,
Interesting information this and I hope that Kay Heath picks up on it
because she may be able to add some shreds of information to help you.
As soon as I read the name Varley,in your e-mail, the alarm bells went off
in that I knew that the name appears on one of the Yorkshire Cat*ley Trees
and that it is not mine (Stevan of Normanton) thus by deduction it had to
be
either the Edmund of Bilton or the Robert of Garforth tree.
Your Catley Tree via Amos + Benjamin we know as the Robert of Garforth one
after Robert Catley b 1690 m Mary Shillito 28/10/1711 at Featherstone,
Yorks.
HOWEVER:- The name Varley has got to be reasonably rare and so you may be
interested to learn that one Selena Varley born 28/6/1846 in Bramham,
Yorks
m William Cattley of Kirk Deighton at Boston Spa Parish Church in
June
1870.
This William is a member NOT of the the Robert of Garforth Tree but one of
the Edmund of Bilton ones.
An obvious question arises:- is the mysterious Sophia Pickard (Varley?)
related to the already known Selena Varley? Selena was as we know, born
in
1846 and if "Sophia" was married in 1864, could there have
been a Sophia
Pickard, a sister to Selena b circa 1844?
It is too late for me tonight to go delving into this mystery but it all
looks very interesting!
Regards
Tim
