OK Dave,
It looks as if you are now happy in that you can close off your Lincs data
on this Benjamin which is what you wanted.
Will leave Kay/Liz to ponder as to how a young steelworker in Sheffield
married a Rebecca Scott over in Lincs in 1853 be she from Birmingham,
Warwickshire or Birmingham, Yorkshire ?! and born around 1837 or 1838.
Kays data does indicate that Rebecca was born Yorkshire in 1837.
All the best
Tim
PS Just for the records, Benjamin and Rebecca went on to have seven
children, the first six born in the Leeds and then Sheffield areas but then
the last one was born in 1875 in Pennsylvania USA which ties up nicely with
the US 1880 census when Benjamin is in Allegheny PA smack in the middle of
the coal mining and steel producing area there.

Based on your input Tim, I've tracked Garforth 'Benjamin' in the 1861 rtns
@
Sheffield, where he's listed as a 26 yr old steel manager of
Garforth,
YKS. His
wife is named as 'Rebecca', aged 24 yrs and of Birmingham,
YKS (sic) !
Back at Lincoln in 1851 I found a Rebecca SCOTT aged 13 yrs, born
Birmingham,
WAR - living with her mother and siblings.
So in between the bad bookkeeping in the various census years, I imagine
that
the Lincoln marriage will relate to Garforth 'Benjamin' which
sorts my
records
in Lincs.
