Hi there Tim,
Thanks, yes, have just found this to my horror. And better to know this at
the time rather than later, so a great call, Tim. My father is still out on
the farm but am sure he will be interested. My mother has checked on the
going rate and it is more. My mother is correct that he also got another
medal based on my Grandfather's ones. My father has these three.

Jocelyn,
Have a look at :
www.trademe.co.nz/Antiques.../auction-243582798.htm
because it looks as if this is the seller.
From what I can see, it appears that this person attempted a sale in
September but it did not reach his reserve.
You could be in with a good chance here.
Best of luck
Tim

Anne,
I have rung Mum, and Dad is out on the farm, so will have to wait until
Dad
returns to provide any more info. Mum knows that Dad never got his medals
but may know who did. Time will tell. Dad has his diary. Francis was Dad's
uncle, and of course Dad was named after him.
I have been to his gravesite and one of my cousins went there last year.

I printed off the information re his death and which cemetery he is
remembered in a few years ago. But I can't afford to get into this
purchase. Maybe Jocelyn will be interested.
He was my mother's first cousin.
Thank you for the information.
Anne
