Subject: [CATLEY] James and George
Hi Anthony Tim etc
As I said in my last email or so, James and George whereborn 22/9/1831 and christened
along with Thomas 28/6/1837. So I think Tim that what you mentioned about a George and
James being christened 22/9/1831 St Denis York are the same people. I think as they where
twins they weren't sure if they would survive and had a rush job done!!!
There is the marriage of James to Jane Wright 25/10/1830 also at the same church.
When I was looking at the criminal registers for the terrible twins it stated that it was
the county of York held at the Kingston upon Hull sessions. I also noted that there was a
conviction for a William 8/4/1861 for house breaking he got 14 days then states something
else followed by 5 years. Which I took to mean held to keep out of trouble for 5 years.
Could this be why I cant find him on the 61 census.
Liz
