Hi Chris- Can you give me detailed directions to the specific FIBIS site you
searched. I was notified of the new database by Peter Bailey of FIBIS a
couple of weeks ago, but when I searched (all periods) I found no Catleys or
Cattleys at all- although I did find a couple of entries from other parts of
my family.
He directed me to the FIBIS Search page, browsing Military Records -
Soldiers Service Records - Bombay Soldiers Records. I did an alphabetic
search on each of the periods covered but found no Catleys!
You obviously found something I did not.
Nigel

Subject: [CATLEY] Bombay Soldiers Go Online At FIBIS
The following is culled from Eastman's Online Genealogy
Newsletter.
"The Families in British India Society (FIBIS) is pleased to announce
that it has placed details of about 15,000 European soldiers who served
in Bombay (now Mumbai) into its online database, FIBIS Search, and that
these are freely available at
www.fibis.org."
Searching the database gives 26 hits for Catley and 9 hits for Cattley.
Enjoy
