David,
That would be Walter Harris Catley b 4/4 1919 I presume. Noted a marriage
here to Robinson and a Mervyn son b 1951.
There is a record of a Joseph Catley b Gainsborough same quarter as John
Walker/Walter but if related, I know not.
Other interesting Gainsborough events that could be meaningful include :-
Sarah Ann b 4/4 1842
Louisa b 4/4 1847
Cave b 4/4 1849
Betsy b 4/4 1850.
John m 4/4 1850
Sarah m 1/4 1845
Thomas m 3/4 1844
John m 4/4 1839
also infant deaths of
John and Elizabeth in 1844 and 1846.

Tim,
I will come back to you on this you as promised in due course.
One thing which is stumping me at present is identifying a prior Catley -
Harris relationship as indicated by the 1881-91 returns at Haxey for this
John Walker Catley.
The appearance of the term 'nephew' in a census entry could obviously
cover a multitude of sins, however the connection was clearly strong
enough to warrant giving 'Harris' as a middle name to one of his sons.

Excellent David,
As you say, the burial records look to clinch the job, so many thank's
for
giving your time.
The early Lincolnshire records are so rich with Catleys, to the point
where
I believe that the tree's we have so far established, as emanating from
this
County are possibly but a few of the real total.
My recent investigations which you and Anthony have backtracked to John
Walker Catley b 1877 started from the random choice of a GRO birth
registration for 1974 in Croydon of all places, indicate that my thoughts
are possibly correct?
As for John Walkers lineage :- I do not see any clear entries in the GRO
for
Gainsborough Reg Dist which suggest either siblings or parents but
Glandford
Brigg looks more favourable but my attempts to identify his parents have
been unproductive.
Are you game to research this line back a bit further?
Tim
