Wheathamstead is the old form and is used in early census returns. The
modern spelling is Wheathampstead. The original pronunciation certainly
omitted the P. Anthony

Subject: Re: [CATLEY] Catley/Cattley "Which Tree" list
Hi there Tim,
I am trying to plot the tree title locations below on a map of England,
but
rather than make assumptions, Tim, I was wondering if you are able to
please
let me know which county (and where necessary the district) the
following
are in, as there are at least 2 locations for these places:
Kirton - 2 in Lincolnshire (which district ?), (1 in Suffolk)
Ashby - 3 in Lincolnshire (which district ?), (1 in Northamptonshire)
Aston - a choice of 7 but assume this is Birmingham ?
Wheathamstead - couldn't find this - should it be Wheathampstead ?
Cuddington - Buckinghamshire or Cheshire
Those I have mapped are in 3 or 4 general groups, some are DNA matched,
some
are not. I do realise though, that there is no doubt other lines that
have
no listers who are not on the list below.
Thanks
Jocelyn

Thus we have resolved 24 trees so far and by dna tests have been able
match seven
of them into three distinct dna tree groups. There are three
further trees tested who have no dna match, thus so far, we have a total
of
six different Catley sets of dna with Bernie's Thomas of Bath results
now
imminent.
How many more untapped trees are out there? Liz is working away on
this
one but progress is slow.
Regards
Tim
