Hi Sharon/Elaine/Liz,
Re the unattached branch which starts with Thomas Cattley b Barkway 1806 or 8 m Maria Head
28/08/1849.
This is the branch which contains Valerie Ann Catley who m Mr Olesen.
No news from any of you, so assume none of you have yet had any luck in confirming the
attachment of this branch back to the main Barley/Anstey tree?
Just been looking again at Valerie's notes to me circa 1987 and see that Thomas'
son Edward m Susannah Scripps and that his grandson Edward (the one who was wounded at
Gallipoli and died in Southampton 1915) m Annie Tamar Hicks.
From what I know of the Anstey history:- the Scripps and Hicks
families, like the Cat*leys, were large local trees and it seems possible to me that there
may just be some family genealogists on their side who may have some Cat*ley history which
might help us here?
Just a thought as they say.
Tim
