Hi there Tim,
Thanks for this synopsis. I got a similar list as you. I am hoping that a
Lister has come across either of these two and may have put the information
to one side, or can discount those in your list below.
I have a few thoughts but haven't had a chance to organise them yet !
Regards
Jocelyn

Hello Jocelyn,
A nil return so far, from the List to your request for help.
Maybe you should consider trawling at least five (maybe even ten?) years
either side of 1775 to be in with a chance of netting your John?
I can see John's bapt 1775 in :-
Lincs (Faldingworth) and Liverpool but no others.
Going backwards:-
1774 nil
1773 nil
1772 Louth (Lincs) & Sawston (Cambs) ............ Not listed on any known
tree
1771 Tisbury (Wilts) & Gt Chesterford (Essex).....Tisbury = James of Barley,
Gt Chesterford not listed
1770 nil
Going forwards :-
1776 Leeds..........................................................Not
listed on any known tree
1777 Melbourn (Cambs)......................................Predates the
start of Lynda's Joseph of Melbourn tree
1778 Faldingworth (Lincs) & Hemswell (Lincs)....Not listed on any known tree
1779 nil
1780 nil.
The two 1775 John's are also not listed on any known tree.
You can discount 1771 Tisbury by dna and presumably 1777 as well?
That leaves four Lincolnshire possibles + Gt Chesterford + Sawston and
Liverpool!
Possibly David can help you on the Lincs ones, as for the others, I do not
know
Sorry I can not help more
Tim
p.s.
This is the best I can do for you and based on what I have. I rely on other
Listers to feed me with updates from their own searches and it is quite
possible that some may be sitting on stuff that has not yet come my way and
could be relevant?

Subject: [CATLEY] John and Elizabeth Catley - any more info out there ?
Hi there All,
I have now found a bit of time since the DNA results (no matches) to see
what I could find of the parents (John and Elizabeth) of Zachariah Catley
b
7 Sept 1808 Hackney, Middlesex.
I have managed to find their burials with the help of the newly released
London Metropolitan records:
Elizabeth burial 4 Sept 1836, born ~1782; and John burial 02 April 1837,
born ~1775.
Abodes were both Camden Row, Camden Town, Middlesex. This are the right
couple as this is the address Zachariah gave in his documentation in
coming
to NZ in 1840.
Their two other children :
Lydia b 4 Sept 1806, d 6 Nov 1807; and Rebecca Ruth (m Henry Bangs) b 20
Dec 1803, d 5 Aug 1835, also both died at this same address, along with a
daughter of Zachariah and Sarah, Louisa Elizabeth b 7 August 1836, d 12
Nov
1837.
They were all buried in St Martin in the Field burial ground, Camden Town.
By the 1841 census there were no Catleys living at this address. Zachariah
and his family were in NZ by this stage.
Unfortunately, I can't find the marriage of John and Elizabeth, or John's
birth. Obviously can't look for Elizabeth as don't know her maiden name.
There are a few other John Cat*leys born around 1775 but can't link any of
them to this John.
Is anyone able to please help me with any more information on this John
and
Elizabeth Catley ?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Jocelyn (and Anne Nickless who is also hoping)
