Tim,
I have had a quick look at the Victorian BDM Indexes and was in town
today and checked the probate records as well for these two Catley's.
Cecil Reginald CATLEY married Daphne Muriel OWEN in 1924 (Reg # 2592)
Cecil died in Heidleburg on 2 Nov 1975 (residence was Cockatoo)
Harold Norman CATLEY married Selina Constance STEWART in 1931 (Reg #
229 - low number so marriage _might_ have been late 1930 and
registered early 1931)
Harold died in Parkville on 11 Oct 1962 (residence was North Fitzroy)
Now I have the exact dates of death I will check the newspapers for
obituaries next time I am in town. If they exist they might list
their children. I could also look at the probate records but I don't
go to North Melbourne that often where they are located.
If they belong to anyone then you can see their WW1 service records
online at
www.naa.gov.au - select the Collection Tab, select Record
Search and click on Search Now - as a guest, then put their full name
in the search box.
If you do a search on
Ancestry.com you will find them in the
Australian electoral rolls too.
Regards
Graeme Simpson

Does anybody have information on Hannah b 1845, possibly the
daughter of John Catley b 1819 Cambridge and wife Harriett Johnson b
1820 also Cambridge?
Hannah looks to have been transported to the Melbourn area in AU
where she had a son William Robert Catley b 1865 and d 1912.
Wm Robert possibly m Louisa Wasley 1888 Victoria and had five
children all carrying the Catley name between 1890 and 1902, four in
Melbourn and one in Victoria.
Of these five children there were two sons:-
Cecil Reginald b 1894 Melbourn
and
Harold Norman b 1897 Melbourn
Are there any known issue from either?
Tim
