This chap was an accountant who appears in the Irish 1901 & 1911 census
returns which are now free-to-view online via:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/
He was married to a 'Mary M' (reputedly a native of Yorkshire) around 1885
and I would imagine that this couple will be a match for the Thomas Catley
and Mary Magdalene Farrar married in the Sep Qtr of 1884, Ecclesall Bierlow
RD.
From the Irish BMD indexes (online with Ancestry.co.uk) it appears
Thomas
died in the Mar Qtr., 1937 , Dublin South RD aged 81 yrs, followed by Mary M
Catley in the Jun Qtr, 1939 aged 85.
If you check out Catley/Cattley on the Irish census you will find additional
families which includes a Robert William Cattley with wife Mary Jane and son
Robert Watson Newmarch.
See
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000573836/
All three were born in Scarborough and started off family life as Catleys
being known members of the Lincolnshire Kirton Line.
I am struggling to make out Robert William's occupation in the 1901 census -
note he is missing from the 1911 returns but is listed as the head of
household in the enumerators Street form. It looks as though his wife and
son were living in a barracks - possibly the home of the Connaught Rangers!
The other families may well be of interest.......
