Good evening Andrew,
It is quite obvious to me, now that I have had a deeper look into it, that the Thomas of
MSN (Welton) tree as supplied by Glynis, has errors which have been causing confusion.
Suspect that Liz has already recognised this which is why she is asking me to bear with
her whilst she goes back to parish record level.
One error which occurs on line eight of this tree record concerns the marriage of James
Catley (born abt 1764 MSN) which is shown as to Mary Ann Maggs who I have now found out
from consultation of Phil Clements "Somerset Coalfield Connections" that she,
according to Phil, was a widow maiden name Robbins who first married a Maggs. However she
already appears in the Emery of MSN tree as having married JamesCatley the son of Francis
Catley and Joanna Taylor.
So, we have the classic "crossover" of one individual who appears in two
parallel trees who lived on top of each other in the same locality.
If one such error exists, then it is certainly possible that there are others and I think
Liz having already recognised this, is probably running through the two trees in unison
and by generation to cross check everything.
In the meantime whilst waiting for Liz :- can you please tell me the date of burial of
your James Catley who married Mary Townsend?
Regards
Tim
