Hello Maria,
I notice that nobody has come forward with any information on your query
unless they contacted you off list.
I cannot find your Bilton Ainsty CATLEY/CATTLEYs in the family database,
but I do have them from my IGI database. There are 2 towns called
Bilton in modern Yorkshire but Bilton Ainsty seems to be no more. One
is near Hull (where some of our lot ended up), and the other is an easy
walk from Thorp Arch, Clifford, Bramham, Kippax and Normanton where our
original ancestors are recorded as having lived.
If Bilton Ainsty was in this area then I would imagine a connection could
be likely - if difficult to prove. I only have details of the
descendants of Stevan Catlay born about 1580 and that only because the
family kept good records so we knew where to start. It seems more than
likely that he had siblings I don't know about and whose records may have
suffered the usual depredations of Oliver Cromwell etc.
I would think it worth asking Tim Cattley. I don't have all the data that
he has on the seven CAT(T)LEY lines he says he knows of, so it might be
worth writing to him at :
Tim Cattley,
Yew Tree Cottage,
Overton Road,
Ifton Heath
SAL SY11 3DH, England
Good luck and please keep us posted.

I'm looking for some information on Ann (Nancy) Catley/ Cattley;
born
1801, christened 7 June 1801 Bilton Ainsty Yorkshire
Her parents were Edmund (christened 14 March 1766 Bilton Ainsty
Yorkshire)and Ellen( maiden name - Leeming)Catley- married 1792 at Bilton
Ainsty Yorkshire
Their other children( all christened at Bilton Ainsty Yorkshire)
Mary 1793
Stephen 1796
John 1798
Ann/Nancy 1801
George 1804
Robert 1807
William 1810
Hannah 1812
Joseph 1815
According to family history Ann married Thomas Curtin. Dates I have are
1815 at Kingston upon Hull- Yorkshire on 26th March. However I'd like to
confirm this with Cattley/Catley records if possible.
Their son Francis Cattley/Catley Curtin(1825-1875) came to Australia and
was my great x 3 grandfather.
I'd be grateful if anyone has any information that could help.
Many thanks - Maria Dunbar - Melbourne Australia
