Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks Anthony I'll take a look.
I've sent you a copy of the actual Pallot's image direct.

Not sure I understand the sic since Woodford was in Essex (although there
are others). Without looking into it further a Woodford church register that
covers the period is St Mary the Virgin and an index of the marriage
register is available from SEAX. (Try History House to learn how to use
SEAX) Anthony

Subject: [CATLEY] Mark CATLEY ( 1753 - ????)
I’ve got a Mark CATLEY on my Kirton tree who seemed to go missing following
his bapt. in 1753 at Broughton, Lincs.
He was the youngest child of William CATLEY and Catherine BARRET.
Currently there is no attributable death/burial record for him, although as
he failed to get a mention in his brother James's will of 1815, it is
possible that he was deceased by then, or alternatively he could have
settled further afield or emigrated etc..
However, the IGI lists the marriage of a Mark CATLEY and Jane WINGATE at
Freiston, Lincs (near Boston) in 1780.
Looking at the marriage entry now available online reveals that this Mark
was single and ‘of the parish of Laceby, Lincs’.
It is on file that my Mark had an elder brother Thomas with issue at Laceby
during the 1770’s, who then went on to settle at nearby Riby by 1780.
It would seem hopeful then that the Mark married to Jane WINGATE in Freiston
is my missing ‘Mark’.
Alas there is currently no record of his presence at Laceby, other than the
marriage entry at Freiston.
I am now struggling to find any issue for Mark and Jane along with burial
entries for the pair of them.
In continuing to search for Mark, Pallot’s Marriage Index carries the
following reference:
Mark CATLEY and Ann HARWOOD
1796, T Woodford Essex (sic)
Can anyone shed any light on this couple?

How do Mick,
Thank you for underpinning the connections to the James of Barley family
tree and the successions in Tisbury as I thought.
Am waiting on Sharon currently who I know has done quite a lot of followup
work in that direction but nothing forthcoming yet.
Do you have any information concerning Newman2's grandson William bt Wardour
10/01/1829........did he marry and have issue or is this a dead end?
Regards
Tim

Thanks for the welcome, Tim. I know very little - am learning from all of
you - but also don't know of Mick Catley in Australia. Hope he will be
interested in the Sawston connection as well
Best wishes
Meegan
Good morning Meegan,
It is always a pleasure to see new people join our Rootsweb Catley list
especially so when we can help them from our Catley pool of genealogical
information.
The Catley "Sawston Connection" is undoubtedly important and under
researched through lack of members so hopefully you will be able to join
forces and contribute your research findings, long term.
Mick Catley in Australia about who you know, has an interest in all Catleys
in this area and we also have Alan Catley in New Zealand who is a Sawston
descendent.
Best wishes, do keep in touch
Tim
