Hi Liz
If you ever come across any 'Cadley' spellings of the surname during your
research, I'd love to know!
Thanks!

Hello All,
My thanks to all of you who have responded to the Roll Call request and the number stands at 22 so far, which is encouraging with surprisingly few "overlaps" as it happens.
I have not yet added Chris or self to the list and there are a few others who I know are active but as yet have not responded.
My gut feeling is that there are going to be around 35 Listers as a final total, which is very encouraging for broad spectrum research across most of the known Cat*ley Trees.
Regards Tim
Hi All,
I have Thomas Pratt Catley (son of Leaonard) who married Deborah Westerman
in Bangalore India in 1869. So far I haven't been able to find anything

Hi Tim,
I am a bit of a sleeper, having run into a dead end with my Essex Catley's due to very very poor 1841 & 1851 census records being unreadable, but I actively keep an eye out on the list.

Hi Tim,
I have not researched for a while now, busy with other sides of the family
but have quite a bit of info done by my father.
Janet Newman, researching Midsomer Norton Catleys back to Emery Catley. (the
same as Glynis - different branch.)

Hello All,
To those of you who have responded so far: many thanks, your intentions are noted and will be sent to Chris Newall in due course.
We obviously should have two sub lists running here:
1) Those who are actively engaged in research.
2) Those who are interested in their family genealogy and have some family information but for various reasons
are not in a position to do research at present, yet are obviously concerned enough to enter the List and monitor the
e-mail traffic and throw in some information as and when they can.
I intend to "split the list" accordingly, am sure that Chris will come up with a way of making this obvious when he comes to including people on his Catley Database.
There are still a number of previously known active member researchers of this List who have not yet replied to my invitation.. I will keep this door open until 31st October, so if you wish to be included in Chris' next web pages, one way or the other, please respond by that date.

Tim Cattley

Hi Tim
I am busy working on my other branches at the moment, so haven't had the time to spend on my CATLEY research. I will hopefully be able to get back to it in the near future.
My interest is in William CATLEY born in 1778 from Farndon in Nottinghamshire.
Kay (M)
My interest is with the Catley's of Midsomer Norton (My Grandmothers family)
which I think is already being actively researched (by Mick Catley?).

Hi Tim,
Apparently my William Aubrey Catley tree is a 'bit out of date' and the one
on Ancestry.com is more up to date.
Just on another wonderful note... I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting up
with 2 other descendants of William Aubrey Catley - Pat (from Tassie) and
Glenda (and hubby Rowland) for a luscious lunch at Stanwell Park NSW on
Sunday.
William Aubrey was their G Grandfather and my G G Grandfather (but we are
around similar ages). It was so amazing to meet up with each other after
e-mailing for quite a while! Great to share family history info and great to
try to see if we had any common traits...and yes, I think its coffee and
chocolate!
Kind regards,
Jann Sutton Parkes

Hello Jan,
No, the information you sent was fine thank you.
By now you will be aware that all I am doing is asking for listers who are
actively researching specific Cat*ley Trees to let me know that they are so
doing and if that is the case, which Tree and who they are.
So in your case, assuming that you are doing research, all I would have
needed would have been something like:
Jann Parkes researching James Catley of Barley, Hertfordshire m Alice 1713?
as a descendant via Wm Aubrey Catley of Hobart.
Sorry to have confused you, it was my error by half writing an email and
then sending it by mistake.
That is the second error in as many weeks, I think my excitement of
impending retirement has got to me. I vow to do better in future by slowing
down and thinking more!
Hope that this and my main email correction clears up any misunderstandings.
Regards Tim
