THANK YOU! You are so kind. I would appreciate that very much!
Are there any other CATLETTs in the counties surrounding Knox (KY)
and >Claiborne (TN)? Nearby neighbors in the census records?
No nearby neighbors in the census records of Knox Co. KY. In 1830
census of Jessamine Co. KY. there is a John CATLETT. This source came
from 1830 KY Federal Census index at the Cincinnati Public Library.
Since this was just an index I have no idea the age of this John...(my
John would have been the age of 42)...I have no other information on
this John of Jessamine Co. KY.
As for TN., thats where I've been searching for the past month. So far
I've found a Benjamin, John, Richard and Loftus CATLETT, all found in
Sevier Co. TN. This information was found on the internet, Sevier Co.
TN. web page.
It's possible that your family is descended from those who went
into
the Carolinas or Georgia.
The Carolinas were the next place I planned to look! Would you know
the counties of NC and Georgia the CATLETT's went to?
Does Fereby have NC roots?
I'm not sure where Fereby is from! Here is how Fereby is listed in the
Knox Co. KY. census'...
1850 Fereby, 34, SC. This is the first census that my Catletts show
up.
1860 Phereby, 45, TN.
1870 Pherabee, 63, NC.
1880 Feribee, 68, SC.
I don't have the 1900 Knox Co. census.
The children's birth places are mixed also KY., VA., TN. They have a
different birth place in almost every census.
But John is always listed as born VA.
They have been very difficult to trace because of this!
Best Regards,
Tammy
