Hello Lorri,
Can you give more information on the Allie T. King that you have
listed below.
The John Catlett b. 1788, I am searching for has a ton of Kings living
around him in Knox Co. Kentucky.
Thank You,
Tammy Fischvogt

I'm not Lorri, but I'm the one who mentioned Allie KING. Here's what I
think I know <G>:
Allie T KING (b. 20 Dec 1755, d. 28 Oct 1803), d/o Joseph KING (b. ca
1730, d. bet. 20 Oct 1804 and 30 Sep 1805, will on file Frederick Co.,
VA). Death date provided by Stubbs and supported by her father's will
dated 20 Oct 1804 where her children are named in the will instead of
her. She married 17 Jun 1775 [Capt.] John "Wealthy John" CATLETT, son
of Robert CATLETT and Mary FLOYD. Family of Prince William, Fauquier,
and Frederick Counties.
John and Allie were the parents of Elijah, Joseph King, Henrietta,
Amelia F., Robert, Louisa, Mary F., Patsy D., Carolina Matilda, and John
CATLETT. There is a connection here with the ALLENSWORTH family. And I
have seen where an Catlett ALLENSWORTH wound up on the TN-KY border in
the early 19th century. I've not pursued that line. Maybe someone else
on the list has.
John and Allie are also credited with the LDS Church as being the
parents of my ancestor David CATLETT. I'm going on record as saying
that there's no way on EARTH that John, born in 1749 fathered David, who
was born in 1753. Whoever submitted that erroneous record to the LDS
Church couldn't or can't (if they're still living) interpret their way
out of a soggy paper bag. <g> And really think they had a problem
deciphering Dr. Stubbs' writings on this branch of the family. And
there are others who have misread the Stubbs book and think that this
John is the father of David's son George (my 3rd GGF). Again, if one is
familiar with Stubbs' writing style, they can overcome certain small
hurdles. <g>
Off the soapbox...
