Well, let me see if I have this right. If what you write is correct, which I
have no reason to doubt, then my Catlett connection through Rachel Gibson is
non-existent. You can see I did quite a lot of work on that line.
Right. Consider it a kissin' cousin line. <s>
But, ironically, you think I'm related to the Catletts through my
Enders line (the
Woolfolk piece I believe to be collateral). Wow! A lot to digest.
Exactly! You can join the search for our immigrant CATLETT connection
via the Frederick-Fauquier Cos. branch(es). Very weak and muddied going
back from our Robert to [Col.] John (Robert{3} -> William{2} -> David{1}
-> Nicholas{A} -> [Col.] John{A1}.
Of course, it does open up a whole new line with the Thornton name,
which I've seen
almost as much as Taliaferro. I guess most know that "Taliaferro" is
"tailor"
in Italian. I'll contact Kris on his Walters information. Thanks for all your
help.
I've read that "Taliaferro" is "tailor" but I don't know that
to be
true. <s> I don't know the language and I've seen other translations
that say "Taliaferro" has something to do with being an iron or metal
worker or some such thing. There are TALIAFERRO-CATLETT cousins on the
list. I'll let them address this. Eleanor? Charles? Elreeta?
