It can happen, as we all know, but probably this is not the same family.
Because the Catlett name has been so prominate in VA history it is possible
to name a child Catlett for no apparent reason connected to genealogy, it
was just a nice name, with historical Military association, like all the
George Washington Campbells we have running throughout our files.

I didn't mean to imply that John Campbell was the father of Catlett Campbell.
I've never pursued him or his wife in VA records (beyond the bible record and
the printed record which Pam cited -- I do believe that I looked at the
Frederick Co. marriage records (bonds, register, and ministers returns, but
can't say for sure which of the three types and didn't find anything would
suggest that "Dolitha" was a transcription error in the printed book of
records).
If I were to take a look at John Campbell, I'd start with Frederick Co. and
see what paper trails he left behind. It is quite possible that there's a
link between the Catletts in northwestern VA and the Campbells (that have been
reported here as being in southern VA). If I were researching the Campbells,
I would definitely look at the military records (service and pension files) to
see if any served under a Catlett or with a Catlett. I would also take a look
at possible places they lived prior to being found in southern VA to see whom
they migrated with (look at a 5-10 year period before and after the CAMPBELL
name appears in local records).
