Dear Mary and others,
Lawrence Campbell was born about 1736 in Scotland and married Henrietta
Catlett about 1759 in Caroline Co., VA.
Henrietta's daughter in law made a statement that Henrietta was a Catlett.
Henry Campbell, married to Charity, had a son Joel. This Joel named his own
son Catlett Campbellb. 1792 Amherst Co VA.
Why would Joel chose this name, when it is the maiden name of the wife of
Lawrence Campbell, who was next-door neighbor to Henry? Henry and Lawrence
are 30 yrs apart in age, but both were born in Scotland, perhaps they are
related back in Scotland, but why use the name CATLETT? I am searching for
connections and clues.
Also havw Catlett Campbell b. 1015-1797 VA, d. 1862 Meriwether Co GA. His
father was a JOHN Campbell, who was a Rev War Vet. Is this John, s/o Henry
and Charity? If so, WHY are they using the Catlett name?
Lot's of questions.
Best regards,
Lilly Martin

I have a Henrietta Catlett married to Marquis Calmes Richadson. Her
parents were Robert Catlett and Mary Floyd. Robert was the son of David
and David the son of Nicholas Catlett.
