David Cox (?) respond to a question that I posted relative to more specific
areas in Noble County Ohio associated with the Triplett, Star and Catlett
families who were the subject of recent postings. He responded that they
were in Beaver Township, Guernsey County Ohio, and Calais Monroe County
Ohio.
Cinda Kerr Jenny and I have mentioned our line that includes James/Mary
Catlett and George Washington/Nursis Catlett. George Washington Caltett was
in Seneca Township Nobel County Ohio in the early 1900's, at least as early
as 1918, and probably earlier. Beaver Township Guernsey County became Beaver
Township Nobel County Ohio when Noble was formed in 1851. Seneca and Beaver
are separated by Wayne, in one area by only a thin panhandle. That is they
are close. Likewise, the town of Calais in Monroe County Ohio is only 10
miles or so from the Beaver/Seneca Township area. Cambridge which others
have mentioned in connection with the Triplett, Star and Catlett families is
the County Seat of Guernsey County, and is about 20 miles from Seneca/Beaver
Township areas.
As someone else has pointed out, a shared name and locality does not make
people related, but the possibility is intriguing.
