I am sorry to hear of your friend and fellow researcher's death.
I am
very interested in the documents you spoke of about CATLETTs in Berkeley
Co.
Sorry that I wasn't more specific about the notes of my cousin. She
interviewed some of the present-day CATLETT family and in-laws several years
ago. They shared some stories and showed her scrapbook items, etc. -- mostly
concerned with folks from the late 19th century and into the 20th century. I
may have those notes here at home, although, I've not come across them yet and
don't recall her ever sending them to me. I don't think Virginia went through
the Berkeley Co. records for CATLETTs, as our own line seems to have been in
Morgan/Hampshire Co. VA (now WV) and Allegany Co., MD. But, I'll be sure to
keep you in mind when I do go through her papers.
Where in Berkeley Co. did Nancy and John live? Is there any evidence that
John served in the War of 1812? (I may have asked you about this before -- I
know you've been doing a lot of serching since then, so may have turned up
something new since then).
