I appreciate your message and am encouraged by what you posted -- it might
help sort out some of the CATLETTs who sprang from the eastern panhandle (and
slightly west of that area) of present-day West Virginia -- Frederick,
Berkeley, Morgan, and Hampshire Counties.
Additional data/knowledge/insights would be greatly appreciated. I
did find,
by the way, through an
ancestry.com search that William Catlett and Elizabeth
Farber were married September 5, 1829 in Morgan County, VA.
Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately -- Stubbs didn't show any of the
Catletts married to a FARBER -- but, we do know that he didn't follow all the
families from that area. I want to take some time and review some of the
persons' records in my database from that area and time who might just be a
candidate for this William CATLETT. I know that there was a William Catlett
who bought a lot in Berkeley Springs (Bath), Morgan Co., WV that was next door
to George Washington's lot latter part of the 18th C. He might be this
William or perhaps his father.
I also want to take a look through the tax records that John Christensen has
compiled, too. John may also have some insight on this situation as he's
spent more time with the various names than I have.
