Hello All:
I Searching for the parents of Nathan and Isaac Catlett, brothers, who left
what
is now West Virginia (Berkeley/Morgan Co.?) and went west to Hardin Co. Ky
about
1817. Family legend says that Nathan (born c. 1788 Berkeley Co. {W}Va.)
was disowned by his father after eloping with a german girl. The legend
further
states that the father died in 1816 after which Nathan left for Kentucky with
his new wife, taking Isaac (born c. 1805?, Md? or Va?) along to drive the
cattle. Nathan's family stayed in what was to become LaRue Co., Ky, where
many still live. Isaac and his family moved west to Fremont Co. in Southwest
Iowa. After Isaac died in 1879 his 16 children and their children scattered
across Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and points west. I am descendant from Robert
Clinton Catlett, son of Isaac, who settled in southwest Nebraska, Robert
being my great great grandfather on my mother's side.
My goal is to find the parents of Nathan and Isaac. So far, I've had little
or no luck. But I have been "collecting" Catletts all the while. To get a
general idea of what information I do have please see my web page at

Peace
John
