reply to who ever sent the message origanily. I only have posstively
found my greatgreatgrandmother Jane Catlett Henry born 1822 I think
east TN. She married Rev.John Henry at Union Baptist Church of
Christ in Cosby,Cocke Co.TN. abt.1850-2. Sure wish I could find who
her parents are.
I think it's extremely likely that she was the granddaughter of Reuben
Catlett, but that would still beg the question as to which of Reuben's sons
was the mother of Jane. This is based on the fact that Sevier County was
the only Tennessee county in which any Catletts were enumerated in the 1850
census, and all the Catletts in Sevier County at that time appear to have
been descended from Reuben.
All the following are 1850 census entries from Sevier County, Tennessee.

William, Henry, and James P. were sons of Benjamin Catlett and Nancy
Loveday, and they were grandsons of Reuben. It appears to me that Jane
Catlett could fit as the daughter of Benjamin.

Lofty Catlett from HN 569 and Mary Catlett from HN 568 were brother and
sister, children of Samuel Catlett from HN 563. Wilburn Cowden from HN 568
and Jane Cowden from HN 569 were brother and sister. So a Catlett brother
and sister married a Cowden sister and brother. Samuel was a son of Reuben.
It doesn't look to me as if Jane Catlett fits as the son of Samuel unless
she and Lofty were twins.

John age 66 from HN 651 was the son of Reuben, and George W. from HN 669 was
the son of John from Hn 651. It appears to me that Jane Catlett would fit
as the daughter of John. John P. Catlett age 20 from HN 651 I believe was
the son of John. John P. Catlett stayed in Sevier County, and died 28 Mar
1859 (see below for another John about the same age).

I believe this John Catlett age 22 was John Pinckney Catlett, s/o Samuel and
Hannah from HN 563. He is the one who moved to Anderson County, South
Carolina. The fact that there were two John P. Catletts, first cousins,
about the same age, makes figuring out which was which a bit dicy. But the
interpretation I am giving I believe is a better fit to the data than would
be the reverse.
That's all the Catletts in Sevier County, and indeed in the whole state of
Tennessee, in the 1850 census. So I think the three choices for Janes's
father are the three brothers John, Benjamin, and Samuel, all sons of
Reuben. It looks to me as if Jane would fit as the daughter of John or
Benjamin, but not as the daughter of Samuel.
