Philip:
Have wondered how you connected with the Catheys. Have known Harriet all my
life. Also Wilieene.
My father worked for Tom Sadler in his store that used to be near the tank
farms at Paw Creek. There was a cotton gin beside it. Later Ted Campbell and
my father formed Cathey-Campbell Co. - a three-store grocery chain. One in
Smyre Station in Gaston Co. ( my dad's), One in Mt. Holly (Ted's) and one in
N. Belmont my Uncle Bill's.
Ralph & Harriett may have my 1993 book on "Cathey Family History and
Genealogy" - do you know about it?
I would like to have your data; however I may have some you will like to
have. Have received / discovered tons of data since 1993.

Dear Boyt,
I grew up about 2 miles from Paw Creek (a favorite stomping ground of my
grandparents with their tag-along grandson), and you're right... tons of
Cathey
relations buried there. Aside from being descended from the Mecklenburg
Catheys
two different ways, other branches of my family married Catheys,
including my
Uncle Ralph Underwood, who married his cousin (once through the Beatys
and twice
through the Catheys) Harriett Campbell.
BTW: Paw Creek Cemetery survey is online through the Mecklenburg GenWeb
page.
I have quite a bit of info (some of it from Donna Joy Johnson, most of
it mine
own) that I would be glad to send to you.
Kind regards,
Philip
