Jane and Boyt, please forgive me for being so slow in responding to your
message to me regarding
George Cathey. My husband and I have been away from home since the 27th of
Dec. We are retired
and have a RV that we drove to CA and back. We arrived back home in MS two
weeks ago. I was able
to down load my lists in digest form a few times while we were on the road,
but I did not attempt to reply
to inquiries. We are now home for a few weeks and I am trying to get caught
up.
I have George Cathey (1804-1877) as married to Elisa Carter, born in 1813, in
GA. That is the only info
that I have on Elisa Carter. George's father was George Cathey (1760-1840).
I do not have any info on
his first wife. There is a marriage record of his marrying an Elinor
Armstrong in 1805 in Stewart Co, TN.
Possibly, his wife and mother of his five children died and he remarried
quickly. My gggranddaddy,
George was born in 1804. Perhaps, his mother died from childbirth
complications and his father
remarried Elinor Armstrong.
My line is from George (1760-1840) -> George (1804-1877) -> Archibald
(1832-1907) -> Thomas Walter
(1871-1947) -> Thomas Rupert (1895-1971) -> Sara Anne Cathey (me).
Boyt, I attempted to send you info on my line via e-mail last fall. Did you
receive it? I am still unsure of
my skill at sending and downloading files. I am most interested in
connecting with George (1760-1840)
Cathey's parents. I believe that his father was either Andrew or George
Cathey, who left NC, stopped in
GA for a few years and then moved on to the Stewart/Houston Co area of TN.
I have Eleanor (Nellie) Cathey Lightfoot as the sister of George (1760-1840,
Archibald (1747-1823), and
Rebecca (1751-?) . There is quite a bit of interest in Nellie on the
Stewart Co list.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Jane, which of George's children do you
relate to? Anne
