Can't assist with the request in your last paragraph, but if you stay at
your genealogy long enough you may find family connections to the early
Cathey pioneers on the Yadkin River in North Carolina and their
pre-Revolutionary War ancestors at the northern end of Virginia's Shenandoah
Valley.
I am the fifth great grandson of Sarah Martha Cathey, the widow of Samuel
Givens, who married Robert Allen, the widower of Debra Montgomery, at
Winchester, Virginia in 1744.
Good luck in your never-ending quest!
W. D. Allen

Subject: [Cathey] William Tolbert CATHEY June 9, 1902 Granger, TX
I am researching this family for my husband, William Kenneth CATHEY,
born
1942 in Fullerton, CA.
William Tolbert CATHEY's brother is Raymond and he has two sisters, Opal
and
Jewel who were all said to be born in Colman, TX. Opal married unknown
MC
NEELY and had a daughter named Ruby who had a son named William. I found
the
Ed CATHEY family in the 1930 Lubbock, TX, Census.
William Tolbert CATHEY's mother is Pearl Dew BIRD, born 1882 Tennessee.
His father is Edward Deauvall CATHEY born 1873 in unknown, TX.
Edward's father is Marian CATHEY, born in LA, who married Myrtle
McWilliams,
LA.
Marian and Myrtle CATHEY's children are Edward, John, William, "Bud",
"Mac"
West, Mattie, Emma and Syrinia, according to family folklore. It is
probable most if not all were born in TX.
If anyone can help me with beginning to fill out these family members,
please advise. Thank you in advance.
