How early do you want? There is a book entitled "A History of the Judson
Association of Missionary Baptist in Tennessee Organized 1849" compiled by
Patricia Bullington Davis. Most of the information deals with churches from
1889. May of the churches included are from the South Dickson/North Hickman
County vacinity.

Is anyone familiar with churches on Barton's creek? From Jill
Garrett's
Dickson Co Handbook, page 158, it reads: "Drury Christian to John
Reynolds and others, conveys to John Reynolds, Richard Epps, William
Brasher and John Shelton, as trustees of Baptist church on the middle
fork of Barton's creek 11/2 acres on the north side of the middle fork
for purpose of building a Baptist meeting house for the promulgation of
the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dated 5 Dec 1812. I am (still) searching for
info on the Sheltons of Dickson Co. Any info on early Baptist churches
would be helpful. Thanks, Jan from Idaho
