Hallo folks,
I wonder whether anyone may help me connect with relations of a James
Cathcart, probably born in Northern Ireland, allegedly a strong Protestant. At
the time of his son's Robert's marriage to Amelia Hodges on the 8th
December,1882 at St. George's, Dublin,by licence; his occupation was stated
as a
land agent.Robert Hodges, the bride's brother and Charles Cathcart were
witnesses. Robert's occupation was a civil engineer and his address at the
time was 17,Forster Ave,North Strand.
Amelia's father was a coastguard and they were living Vernon Ave, Clontarf.
Have several possible James's but three are likely one at Ballymena, another
at Ballyeaston and lastly Kirkinrila, Antrim. Most of known descendants lived
around Portadown.
Robert Cathcart was my husband's maternal great grandfather.Any help would
be most grateful.
Regards from a very sunny Oxfordshire.
