I am looking for a lead with my research. ROBERT CATHCART 1793-1873 is
my great grandfather. He lived in Drogheda, Co Louth and Rathmullan, Co
Meath, Ireland at least from 1820’s. I have Roberts History to 1820’s in
Drogheda but nothing prior to this time. ROBERT CATHCART’s was a baker
and farmer. He owned a baker shop in Drogheda, Ireland. His farm was in
Rathmullan in the Parish Donore, Co Meath. Unfortunately the Tithe
records for Donore were destroyed. I have no record of his first
marriage but Robert’s second marriage was to Mary Anne Hobson in the
Parish Church, Dundalk co Louth Ireland in 1861. The Probate record
records that Robert Cathcart died domiciled in Ireland. I am not sure
what the significants of this is? Robert’s father was John Cathcart
whose profession is also recorded as a baker. Any help in locating
Roberts movements before the 1820’s.
