Probably not. The Y-Chromosome testing follows the male line so your
G.G.Grandmother's relationship would not show up.

My G.G.Grandmother was a Kate's or Kate. We know this by the marriage
certificate when she married Robert McNutt my G.G.Grandfather. But in
further
investigation we now think she was a Cate's and that Robert was first named
Nutt. But as of yet have no way to prove it. Would this DNA on the Cate's
be
beneficial to us and possibly your search also? Please advise. They came

Orange County, NC
