Subject: [CATES] Cates--Descendants of Wiley and Sampson
Dear List Members,
There was a posting a few months ago about a Cates family that had Wiley
and
Sampson Cates in it. They were Southerners. I showed it to my
mother and
she
said that it was our line. Her grandfather was William or Billy
Cates
born
in Alabama as the family was moving from the Edgefield District of
North
or
South Carolina (not sure which state it is in) on to East Texas (Mt.
Vernon
area). Do any list members remember about this family. I think the
woman
was in
Ohio maybe.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Liz
