Mrs. Sybil Rousseau Cates
Obituary
Mrs. Sybil Rousseau Cates of Perth Amboy, NJ, died Sept. 16, 2011.
Mrs. Cates was the daughter of Missionary Rev. and Mrs. Talmadge Henry
Rousseau. Mrs. Cates was born in Franklin Springs, Georgia, then moved to Hong
Kong, China, with her missionary parents and lived there until 1940. From
Nov. 1946 until May 1951, Sybil served as a missionary in Hong Kong. After
returning to the U.S. in 1951, she married H. Princeton Cates and served
with him in Hong Kong, China (PHC World Missions Dept.) for 39 years. She is
survived by husband, Princeton Cates; and children, Christopher Cates of
Perth Amboy, NJ, and Kathy Cates Parham of Eatonton, GA; and sister, Evelyn
Shealy of Franklin Springs, GA.
Services will be held at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA, on Saturday,
Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Family Cemetery in
Franklin Springs, GA.

Perth Amboy, NJ
Mrs. Sybil Emily Rousseau Cates of 844 Harbor Town Boulevard, Perth Amboy,
NJ, died Friday, September 16, 2011, at the Robert Wood Johnson University
Hospital.
Mrs. Cates was born in Franklin Springs, GA, daughter of the late Talmadge
Henry and Eva Belle Brown Rousseau. She was a school teacher.
Survivors include husband, Herman Princeton Cates of Perth Amboy, NJ; son,
Christopher Cates of Perth Amboy, NJ; and sister, Evelyn Shealy of
Franklin Springs, GA.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cates will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September
24, 2011, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Collins and Rev.
Steve Cofer officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Springs City
Cemetery.
The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA where the family
will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until funeral hour Saturday afternoon. The
family is at their respective homes.
