Hi everyone,
The Rootsweb mailing lists aren't as active as they once were, so some
folks--especially those who are newer to the lists--would rather not receive
"extra" mail that's not of interest to them. Although, I hope Bruce will
continue to update the list with announcements as to how plans for the Cates
family association are coming along, perhaps it would be better to write to Bruce
at his address if you wish to be added to the names he's gathering. To add your
name, please write to him at: catesba(a)roadrunner.com
Secondly, if you'd like to unsubscribe from the list, the instructions for
doing so are at the bottom of every post: "To unsubscribe from the list, please
send an email to CATES-request(a)rootsweb.com with the word
'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the
message."
Finally, I wish all of you in the USA a happy and safe Thanksgiving and, for
those of you in Canada and Europe, I hope that your Thanksgiving and Harvest
Festival celebrations were wonderful, as well!
Happy Thanksgiving:

There has been some interest in the formation of a Clan/Family
association/Society for the Cate/Cates name. (Just for the record, Scotland
recognizes them as the same family and for the purposes of a Society, so
will we). It will be open to anyone who is related to or supports the
families
As I envision it, there will be no membership fees and we will try to get an
electronic news letter together quarterly. We have a Society logo in the
family crest.
If you may be interested, drop me an e-mail with your e-mail address and/or
home address, the number of family members, and any thoughts you may have
for the Society.
Your cousin,
Bruce
