My Cates is William Edward Cates B-Aug 12,1862
D- Nov. 10,1915 Ark. Married at least twice. 1st Sarah(Sallie)Noles B- abt
1864 D- abt 1891 . Would like to know more about this family .They are my
husband's
G grandparents . Was told by family Sallie was Indian,
and lived close to Hot Springs, Ark
In the Caruth Funeral Home Records for Hot Springs, AR, there are these
deaths:
Sam Allen Cates, born November 26, 1899, died November 17, 1964. The
father's
name is William E. Cates, the mother is Mary Francis Keener. Cemetery shown
is MV
Mary Francis Cates, born July 16, 1868, died July 26, 1947. Spouse William
Edward. Father John R. Kenor, mother Ellen Scroggins. Cemetery shown is ARK
No William E. Cates is listed in the Arkansas death indexes from 1914
through
1933. Are you certain about the date of death and/or do you know its
location? It is also possible they never filed the certificate.
The abbreviations for the cemeteries are not known to me. You could possibly
contact the Caruth Funeral Home in Hot Springs to see if they have more
information.
Good luck!
